don't put your trust in walls

the other day while throwing on my favorite uniqlo jeans it hit me: that for all the pairs of jeans i have, i only wear like, mayyyybe four pairs on constant rotation? so today i officially counted: 22 pairs of jeans. and yet, i stick with a select few options day after day after month after month (low-rise skinny thankyouverymuch!)... and sure, i hear you: "why don't you just donate the ones you don't wear?!" or "why don't you sell them on ebay/buffalo exhange/etc?!" but i mean, what if one i don't wear now and sell suddenly comes back in style in a few months?! that wide-leg railroad stripe pair might really be the new hot thing for fall 2012! i just can't take the chance that i had in my possession the hippest cut of a future season! ...aaaaaand such is the sickness in my fashion obsessed brain.

wise shoppers like to say that if you try something on at a store and don't buy it, but still love it a day or two later then it's worth going back and buying... i tried on these varnish effect trousers at zara over a week ago and i can't get them out of my mind... i suppose i know what i need to do then?!

even though i feel ombre hair is entirely played out, these new colorblocked looks from vidal sassoon salon are rockin my world... the bold tresses definitely inspired me in my recent decision to change my faded red locks to a deep brown/black... and i am definitely loving my new goth-chic look!

happiness, no more be sad

it's finally sweater weather in nyc! woot woot! i'm currently on the hunt for the perfect cabled ivory/cream crewneck... and even though there's a seemingly endless number of options out there, my new knit still alludes me... maybe it's because i want an impossible hybrid of softness and drape?? orrrrrr maybe because i'm convinced "the one" is a $700 isabel marant number?! woe to my much too small salary!!

before i moved to nyc i never owned a legit pair of grown up rain boots... and while i love my rugged tretorns these givenchy equestrian rainboots are the slickest pair i've seen yet... i mean, these babies are almost gorgeous enough to merit a move to seattle!
