before i moved to nyc i never owned a legit pair of grown up rain boots... and while i love my rugged tretorns these givenchy equestrian rainboots are the slickest pair i've seen yet... i mean, these babies are almost gorgeous enough to merit a move to seattle!

holy smokes i cannot believe the last time i posted was the end of august! actually it makes perfect sense given that september is my birthday month, fashion week and the busiest time of year at my day job... but the weather is slowly getting crisper and i am majorly longing for some new fall fashion goodies... and one of the most important investments each season is a bangin' pair of boots... i am so loving these ONE by matisse footwear presley booties (top) for every day fare and these most badass be&d textured leather ankle boots for more dressier occasions (bottom)... and since they're both under $200 they won't break my always-watched budget!

spinning on a whim

mark my words- these new jeffrey campbell tardy platform boots will be sold out EVERYWHERE in no time... loving their chunky 90's-ness... and at a cool 5.75" they would make me about, oooh 6'3"? 6'4"? honestly, i really dont give a flying f about wearing insanely tall shoes (im tall! i like heels! get over it! and dont ask me how tall i am guy bc obviously taller than you!)... and i would probly be all over these had i not found the most amazing snakeskin peep toe platforms in the back of my closet on a recent trip back home to michigan... you just can't beat sweet new summer sandals for free yo!

ive got something i can laugh about

in the mood for some lighter hues and boots this season... definitely dying over the alexander wang dakota (top right)... though i would seriously be shocked if there ever came a time where i DIDN'T covet a new wang shoe... also on the hunt for some lennon-esque shades... hoping i can score a vintage pair at ye olde salvation army back in michigan when i visit this weekend!

find me a find, catch me a catch

all last fall i searched high and low for my perfect pair of black motorcycle boots. the criteria: at least somewhat of a heel, black leather, perhaps buckle-y and most importantly, badass. yet 95% of everything i came across didn't work or was just too expensive (champagne tastes you know!). i ended up buying a faux leather pair for about $60 from urban outfitters that have not worn so well...

the way i see it, there are 2 lessons to be learned here kids: 1) don't wait until the fall to buy your new favorite boots. all the good pairs will be gone and you'll never find what you're looking for. 2) it pays to spend a little more on a pair that you can wear religiously that will last for years. which leads me to these little beauts from my perennial fave, alexander wang. that heel! the supple black leather! the slightly 60's bent! in luuuuuurrrve!!

both elizabeth & james and jeffrey campbell have created similar fall booties as chloe sevigny's opening ceremony creations... i'm determined to get my hands on at least one of these. they will be mine, oh yes, they will be mine.

gimme gimme

i just can't ever get enough boots. buckles, zippers, low heel, high heel, no heel, summer, winter, fall, i want them all (see what i did there?). honestly i think it mostly has to do with the fact that my wide feet absolutely positively do not look good in dainty little strappy sandals. seriously. one of the most traumatic events of my life was shopping for gold sandals to wear to the senior prom. my sister and best friend can vouch for this. so i generally prefer to cover my boats up, even in the humid nyc summer. preferably in a pair of these badass beauties.
